have lived happily in Chaniers since 2004. Originally British, we
now have had dual nationality since February 2010. We have 4 children
and 6 grandchildren who live in Britain and Spain
Our house is in a lovely
setting; the neighbours are superb and very helpful. They encouraged
us in the improvement of our house. Then we started work on the
garden. It can look beautiful, but many plants have different ideas
from us and sometimes they win the battle! In 2008 we started our
little bed and breakfast business to which we have welcomed visitors
from many different countries.
We have many and varied interests.
Music plays an important
part in our lives. Although we are not instrumentalists, we are
in local choirs and enjoy the range of works sung and have travelled
to the UK for choral exchanges.
Jean swims daily in
a local public pool.
no longer plays sport but follows many with interest.
You can see he is also
the real Father Christmas!
Jean has been studying
family history since childhood and recently brought out a book about
her extended Huguenot family.
She also studied art with textiles and this still features importantly
in her life.
Family and friends
are important too. Most of our travel is related to important family
events. We are both members of AVF (Accueil des Villes Françaises
- Welcome to French Towns) where we both learn French and Jean teaches
